Thanks to my Professors

Hari ini, saya cuba untuk menyiapkan buku saya, "Menulis Dokumen ilmiah Menggunakan Perisian Microsoft Word 2007". Tiba-tiba teringat pula my supervisor yang banyak membantu sewaktu menyiapkan thesis phd di Salford University. Thanks to Prof A. H. Christer and Prof Wenbin Wang. Banyak kenangan indah bersama dengan mereka berdua ni. I miss both of you...

Visit to United Kingdom and Chech Republic




I've opportunity to visit University of Coventry, University of Hertfordshire, Technical University of Ostrava and Masaryk University during the educational trip to United Kingdom and Chech Republic dated 25/10-3 /11, 2011. What a fantastic trip with Dato Prof. Dr Mohd Kadim Suaidi, Prof Dr. Shahrin Sahib and Dr Mohd Khanapi Abd Ghani.

Malaysia Internet Usage Stats

Internet Usage Statistics:

Malaysia have 16,902,600 Internet users as of June 2009, equivalent to 64.6% of the population, (references: ITU)

106% of Malaysia’s 29 million people had a mobile telephone service by early 2010. (references:ResearchandMarket)

As a software developer, we need to consider the mobile user while developing the internet applications.

ICT sector continues to grow

The results of the 2007 Survey of Services Establishments of the ICT services industry released by the Department of Statistics Malaysia showed that there were 1,450 businesses operating at the end of December 2007. The value of output generated by these businesses was RM52.1 billion, with a growth of 10.0 per cent, after expanding 13.3 per cent in 2006.

This survey covered computer services such as software consultancy and supply services; hardware consultancy services; data processing; data base activities and maintenance & repair of office, accounting and computing machinery. Telecommunication services meanwhile refer to telephone services; television & radio transmission services and data communication services.

Growth in the computer services industry was 21.3 per cent and in telecommunication services, 6.6 per cent in 2007. The main drivers to the expansion in the computer services were hardware consultancy, RM2.9 billion or 55.1 per cent increase and software consultancy and supply services, RM7.3 billion or 12.1 per cent increase. As for telecommunication services, data communication services posted RM8.5 billion or 20.0 per cent increase and television & radio transmission services, RM3.2 billion or 13.4 per cent.

In 2007, employment in the ICT industry showed an increasing trend with 91,660 persons (10.2 per cent) as compared to 83,159 persons employed in 2006. Employment in computer services increased 47,357 persons (21.0 per cent) as compared to 39,146 persons employed in 2006 while employment in telecommunication services increased marginally by 0.7 percent, i.e. 44,303 persons in 2007 as compared to 44,013 persons in 2006.

In addition to data on principal statistics of the ICT services industry, this publication also includes secondary data on ICT manufacturing industries, data on external trade of ICT goods as well time series data on ICT indicators. This is to ensure that users of this publication are able to obtain comprehensive data on this sub-sector.

Optimize your MS Word

Hi…are you planning to write your report, dissertation or thesis?. I’m sure writing all such documents above is time consuming especially with their formats and etc. This is because you taking for granted your MS Word, as a result your MS Word is just a electronic typewriter. Please explore its capability especially for preparing long documents. Such function like document map, styles, insert citation and many more need to be explored.

I’m not the big fan of Microsoft but known what it can do is enough to succesfully completed my thesis.
